Universal Pre-K

Universal Pre-K is a grant-funded program. UPK is funded by New York State and by City tax levy funds of the NYC public schools. It is a free 2 and a 1/2 hour early care and education program that serves four- year-old children that are not eligible for kindergarten.

Students who are given the advantage of attending a Pre-K program develop much needed emotional, academic, and social skills they may otherwise lack when entering kindergarten. Pre-K is important because it provides a great foundation for kindergarten. It also exposes children to an educational environment.

Each year, Webster Central School District invites eligible children who reside in the district to apply. Enrollees are chosen based on a first come first serve basis. There are 20 students slots available for this program. We look forward to meeting your child, and we hope that he or she will be one of our students this coming school opening.

Here are the requirements for application:

  • Application that is filled with all the needed information (you may get the form from our office)
  • Birth certificate
  • Proof of residence
  • Physician’s verified proof of immunization

You will be sent a Notification of Acceptance to your mail if your child gets accepted into one of the 20 available slots.
